AP - The Adjectival Phrase
Adjectival phrases can be recursively expanded since they allow the repetitive occurrence of adjectives:
- the big, blue, plastic, German ball
The optional specifier position is normally filled with degree adverbs, such as rather, very etc. Even though the adjectival head generally precedes its specifier (NP or PP), there are cases where the adjective may occur in the final position of A':
( A'
( NP: the court )
( A: martial ))
The structure of adjectival phrases is almost identical with that of adverbial phrases (AdvP).
