The course discusses the various ways in which language has been an object of study and is meant to familiarize the student with the terminology, methodology and technology of 21st century linguistic science. Throughout the course, students will be required to analyze language data from a variety of different languages using modern tools and technolgies where possible in order to develop a feeling for and proficiency in the proper techniques of linguistic analysis.
