"AI Literacy: Language Assessment" equips learners with basic knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and its application in evaluating and improving language use. If Large Language Models like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude etc. are good at something, it is bringing language use in line with widely used normative standards. This, if applied cautiously, can benefit their users significantly. Participants in this course develop both AI literacy and linguistic awareness by critically engaging with AI tools in the context of language assessment. They practise identifying and correcting common learner errors, while comparing their own judgments with AI-generated outputs. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on weighing the strengths and limitations of AI in academic writing and language learning, in this way fostering a reflective approach to the integration of technology into correction and assessment practices.
